Engaging Solutions initiated a meaningful collaboration with Indiana Black Expo, Inc (IBE) to undertake the pivotal task of producing the annual State of Our Black Youth report. This comprehensive document served as a vital repository of statewide data, offering valuable insights into the health and well-being of Indiana’s Black youth. Furthermore, the report delved into the specifics, providing localized data for 16 communities within the state.

The creation of this extensive report was a meticulously planned process orchestrated by ES. We established a stakeholder advisory group, ensuring diverse perspectives guided the decision-making process. In addition, key informant interviews were conducted, shedding light on nuanced insights, while focus groups facilitated dynamic discussions. ES also engaged in the meticulous collection and analysis of data from both state and federal partners, ensuring a robust and comprehensive dataset.

The significance of the report extended beyond state boundaries. ES utilized the gathered information to draw insightful comparisons between statewide statistics and trends observed in communities across the United States. This comparative analysis added a valuable layer of context to the findings, enriching the overall impact of the report.

In response to the revelations uncovered in the report, ES, in collaboration with IBE, undertook the development of a strategic plan. This strategic initiative was tailor-made for local IBE chapters, addressing the disparities uncovered by the comprehensive data analysis. By translating insights into action, the strategic plan aimed to effect positive change at the grassroots level, aligning with the mission of IBE to uplift and empower Indiana’s Black youth.
