Optimist Business Solutions Announces Six Sigma Racial Equity Initiative
Indianapolis – July 15, 2021 — Today, Optimist Business Solutions LLC proudly announced a Six Sigma Green Belt Training Initiative through Purdue University Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). The goal of this innovative leadership initiative is to upskill the Indianapolis Black community, specifically Black working women who live or work in Indianapolis (Marion County), Indiana. Optimist Business Solutions is excited to announce the first cohort of 12 women who will participate in the 2021 program. This training will equip these women with the strategies and tools for complex problem-solving provided by the Green Belt Body of Knowledge.
Earlier this year, the President and Founder of Optimist Business Solutions, Joy E. Mason, pledged to be a force toward racial equity. This pledge motivated Mason to marshal the financial resources to upskill Black women to help tackle community/workforce issues in our Black community. Congratulations to Aisha Cargile, Patrice Duckett, LaQuita Maxey, India Johnson, Chandra Orr, Amber Armour, Sydney Johnson, Detra Warren, Stacia Murphy, Anita Woolridge, Lauren Rochester and Leigh Riley Evans. We want to thank Purdue MEP for providing the instructors and the curriculum and our generous sponsors, Cummins, Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP), Engaging Solutions, Innopower, Black Onyx Management and the Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper. This initiative represents an innovative example of community partnerships and equity in action!
