The City of Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development, in partnership with Meticulous Design + Architecture and DAVID RUBIN Land Collective, led a planning process for the redevelopment of the former Oaktree Apartments in Indianapolis Far Eastside near 42nd Street and Post Road. Engaging Solutions assisted with aiding the community to reimagine the vision of the former Oaktree Apartment Site. Engaging Solutions accomplished this through assisting in creating and facilitating Community Conversations aimed to ensure the diverse voices of the large immigrant community were included in the process, as well as assisting in Charrettes, public meetings, attending community events, and assisting in community-wide interactive engagement campaigns. Throughout the eight-month planning process, the planning team listened to residents and other stakeholders to gain a better understanding of the needs and desires of the Far Eastside. The final plan sets out community values and overarching aspirations while simultaneously defining the design and implementation steps needed to make the vision a reality.
